meet little liam

i’m back. and what a special time i had - i got to meet little liam!
quintin and johanita were very kind as to let me spend lots and lots of time with them and liam:

i was taken shopping with them, i was there in the mornings, joined them for nappy-changing and even got to spend nap times with liam - with him lying in my arms. he is an olympic sleeper and can charm the socks off anyone when he wraps his little arms around you! it felt so nice to be so close to him and i’m really grateful that i got to spend that time with him - especailly since i probably won’t see him for about a year now!

charlotte and i also bought him the coolest baby clothes - english winter clothes, so that he will be nice and warm and suitably wrapped up when winter comes around to south africa in july. we got him little baby-growers, jerseys and t-shirts. charlotte likes bears so there had to be a bear in there somewhere and of course i had to make sure he had something with spaceships and aliens on it!!

i also got to spend time with quintin and johanita, of course, which was really nice too, as i miss them a lot. quintin and i even managed to squeeze in a little cricket, and, as usual, we both went for it a bit too much and the next day my back and thighs were very stiff indeed!
my mom and i, too, got to spend a lot of time together. we went to dinner, watched “buck rogers” in the evenings and often just stopped for a chat at the kitchen table. there was much fussing and joking about her cats as always, especially with there being two more cats this time round! the new additions are cyan and helen and they are british short hairs or chartreaux and photos will follow shortly.
the rest of the time i saw my family and friends, and had lunch after lunch after lunch, and dinner after dinner - i felt quite roman…! it was such a full time; i saw so many people, i did so much… and i even got a chance to watch some cricket ![]()

Awww, he is so cute.
What an adorable kid. Those pictures crack me up! Babies are so goofily cute that you just want to snuggle them all up.
Little Liam is a cutie! He has so much personality already in those pictures. So many babies look alike, but you can really see his personality if that makes sense. I love that last picture of him yawning…too cute. Sounds like you really had a wonderful trip and made the most of your time! That’s the best way to do it!
He’s so cute! I love the one where he’s on your lap and he looks kind of stunned. And the last one, where he’s yawning and his little mouth’s going “O”
Oh god, my maternal instinct’s flaring up.
Oh, and next time we need pictures of cats. Preferably with more than one expression.
That is one cool baby
I love the look on his face in that first picture.
I’m glad you had such a good time. And like Dark Orpheus said, we need pictures of the cats!
Oh my goodness, but he’s a little doll! I just want to reach right through this screen and snuggle him up! So glad to hear you had an incredibly special visit all around!
i’m glad you guys all like him!
CARL:
he is very goofy - haha! i love it!
CHRIST:
he does, doesn’t he? its not the kind of thing that i want to say - ’cause i’m biased and think he’s adorable - but yeah, he’s got a lot of personality already!
i also love that big old yawn!
DARK ORPHEUS:
yeah, i’d never really noticed that stunned face…
its like “wha?!”
and the cats are coming soon! (well, the pictures of them anyway…
NYMETH:
i like that pic too…
and yup! cats coming up!
Oh….Liam is such a cutie!! I just love babies. Especially when they are making funny faces!! Good to have you back.
I love the first picture where he’s sleeping on johanita and smiling. I wonder what he’s dreaming of.
these photographs of liam are very nice, but I especially like the ones with my little prince.
