princess and bear go to the movies

one of the things charlotte and i really like to do together is watch films. we always have a lot of fun when we watch films, and look forward to them and have fun looking back at the films we’ve watched. so i thought it’d be a nice idea to have a blog for all the films we watch – so we can look back at them when we reminisce over the films we’ve seen.

the blog is called princess and bear go to the movies  (our pet names for each other) and i’ve put it in a blogroll of other blogs i’ve got going (with les bleus: france football).

because i’ve just started it i’m busy writing retrospective posts as well as current ones and so the output is a bit all over the place. some days i’m in the mood for jotting down what we’ve seen, some days i’m in the mood for working out in what year we saw what, some days i want to find pictures for the films and sometimes i actually write a post! 😀

i will, at least, be making sure that i write posts about the more recent films we see – otherwise i’ll be chasing my tail over 5  years of film watching and i’ll never get around to writing posts of all the films we’ve seen.

so far i’ve managed to put up reviews of the following:

  • batman begins
  • the dark knight
  • shutter
  • all the omen films
  • run fatboy run
  • hot fuzz

the reviews are mainly about our experiences of the films we watch – so there won’t be any recommendations or much of an attempt at neutrality and seldom any analysis (although i do tend to go off on one every now and then!). it’ll just be what we thought of the film and sometimes some info around how we came to find it, or choose it, or something about our experience of watching it.

so if you fancy a little peek into our lives and seeing what we think of the films we’ve seen, then come and join princess and bear as they go to the movies.

Headed over and left a few comments. We love getting DVD’s from our library. It gives us the opportunity to try anything. Case in point…Hellboy II. I would have been very upset if I had paid money to see that one. The only reason we left it on was so Stephen (son) could see the mechanical army. He as a thing about robotic warriors he’s never outgrown.

thats a good idea! we should really try and get to our library more often. i think its a pound or something per dvd, which is a pretty good price.

yeah, “hellboy 2” it was fun but it started to wear thin after a while. it got a little empty. it was nice watching it at the movies, though – the spectacle of it all. but if you didn’t really enjoy it then i can imagine it must’ve been a relief not to have paid for it.

Oh My. Our library doesn’t charge. You get the DVD for a week and now they have started a quick loan…3 days and then the overdue charges start. Fine= $1.00 per day.

Very fun idea. We are a big film family as well and watching and re-watching movies is one of the things we all thoroughly enjoy.
